Dr. Foster over at Charles Darwin University has conducted research on online computer games and their affect on us. He says, "“Far from feeling isolated, the players of some computer games feel connected to others and derive a sense of community from their game playing." It's our families that may feel isolated and alone, after being pushed away too often for a virtual life.

The key to everything is moderation. Don't go playing "World of Warcraft" 24/7 just because it "makes you happy." That's obsession. A game interfering with everyday life is a problem.

But hey, I'm happy with the study. Online gaming is not all bad. Even games that aren't online have communities. Simmers have forums and can run web sites with downloads for their favorite games.
